Après les télescopages de samples baroques et d'instruments virtuels de l'EP "Matchmade Screens" (indierockmag.bandcamp.com/album/matchmade-screens-ep) en 2020, et en attendant un premier long format aux pérégrinations électroniques plus cosmiques, Valgidrà et Konejo (respectivement moitiés de Saajevo et d'Aries Death Cult, deux projets en pleine actualité avec la sortie en juin de leurs nouveaux LPs) font un pas de côté pour s'essayer aux rythmiques hypnotiques d'une techno sombre et onirique. Avec son approche atypique du genre, volontiers dissonante et toujours infusée d'influences cinématographiques qui participent par samples interposés d'une esthétique rétro-futuriste, "Daily Grinders" esquisse en six titres concis l'allégorie d'un quotidien parfois anxiogène où abstractions introspectives, rêveries urbaines et tension cauchemardée s'entremêlent et se confondent au son de cordes et cuivres distordus, de nappes de synthé texturées, de pianotages mélancoliques et de beats syncopés.

After the mixture of baroque samples and virtual instruments of the "Matchmade Screens" EP (indierockmag.bandcamp.com/album/matchmade-screens-ep) in 2020, and before exploring more "stellar" territories with a first proper "electronica" LP to be released later this year, Valgidrà and Konejo (who just published new albums with their respective projects Saajevo and Aries Death Cult) step aside to try their hand at the hypnotic rhythms of a dark and dreamlike techno. With its atypical approach to the genre, sometimes dissonant and always infused with cinematographic influences which participate through samples to create a retro-futuristic aesthetic, "Daily Grinders" sketches in six concise tracks the allegory of a sometimes anxiety-inducing daily life, where introspective abstractions, urban reveries and nightmarish tension intermingle and merge to the sound of distorted strings and brass, textured synth pads, melancholic piano and syncopated beats.
